We are seeking a professional and experienced Security Guard to join our team and deliver security services, supporting a client in securing property and internal high-value assets. Luxury retail experience is beneficial but not essential. If you are disciplined, reliable, and passionate about working in a high-profile environment, this role is for you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Access control and secure the premises, including entrances, exits, and high-value merchandise areas.
  • Greet customers with a professional and welcoming demeanour.
  • Prevent theft, vandalism, and other potential risks by maintaining a strong security presence and staying alert to suspicious behaviour.
  • Collaborate with store management and staff to ensure a smooth and safe shopping experience for all clients.
  • Conduct regular security checks, including CCTV monitoring and perimeter patrols.
  • Respond promptly to incidents or emergencies, following established procedures.
  • Maintain detailed reports of security incidents and daily activity logs.
  • Assist in loss prevention strategies and support the store in inventory control processes.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Valid SIA license.
  • Previous experience in a security role, preferably in retail or luxury environments.
  • Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Knowledge of security procedures, loss prevention techniques, and incident management.
  • Physically fit and capable of standing for extended periods.
  • Professional appearance and behaviour in line Alma standards.

Role: Operations Manager, Alma Risks

Reports to: Alma Risks Senior Management Team

Location: London with travel requirements

Employment type: Full Time

Remuneration: £50,000-£60,000 plus bonus and benefits.

ROLE SUMMARY:

Ensure the effective and efficient delivery of security services in the UK and abroad. The Operations Manager will oversee the day-to-day delivery of operations, staffing, and serves as the main interface between clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders.

MAIN ACTIVITIES

  • Day-to-Day Operations: Manage daily security operations, including domestic and international assignments, ensuring consistent service delivery.
  • Consultant Sourcing & Management: Identify, assess, and onboard consultants for specialised security tasks. Maintain an up-to-date database of security consultants.
  • Pre-Deployment Preparation: Conduct pre-deployment briefings for consultants and ensure teams are well-prepared for assignments.
  • Team Welfare & Reliability: Act as a point of contact for deployed consultants, ensuring their welfare, reliability, and commitment throughout their deployment.
  • Operational Planning: Develop and maintain operational plans, assignment instructions, and health and safety briefings. Ensure teams are equipped with the necessary resources and training.
  • Emergency Procedures: Maintain and update emergency procedures for deployed teams, including medical and evacuation plans.
  • Client Engagement: Communicate with clients on operational security matters, provide detailed briefings, and ensure understanding of risk assessments, security plans, and client expectations.
  • Operational Reporting: Manage the creation and distribution of regular and ad-hoc reports for clients.
  • Logistical Support: Respond to deployed teams' requests for logistical and operational support, ensuring timely and effective assistance.
  • Invoicing & Supplier Management: Prepare client invoices, review and approve consultant and supplier invoices, and negotiate with suppliers as necessary.
  • Training & Compliance: Support internal and client training, ensuring all team members are up-to-date on compliance and operational standards.
  • Business Development: Actively engage in client relationship management and contribute to business growth.

COMPETENCIES

Client Engagement:

  • Handle complex client issues and maintain client relationships.
  • Ensure high levels of client satisfaction, soliciting feedback and addressing concerns promptly.
  • Promote additional services to clients and manage capacity to meet increased demand.

Operational Responsibility:

  • Maintain budget oversight for operational activities and ensure expenditures align with company policies.
  • Responsible for the procurement of equipment, supplies, and resources for security operations.
  • Propose and implement operational improvements in line with company strategy.

Decision-Making & Autonomy:

  • Work within established policies and frameworks, but make informed decisions regarding operational challenges.
  • Manage diverse and complex tasks, ensuring sound judgment in resolving issues.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Expertise in security operations, risk management, and consultancy practices.
  • Strong proficiency in managing financial budgets, client contracts, and operational documentation.
  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience with experience in the security or risk management industry.
  • Understanding of ISO 9001, ISO27001 helpful
  • Must be competent using IT

Management:

  • Lead and manage the performance of the operations team, ensuring clear objectives and high productivity.
  • Select and manage consultants to deliver high-quality results on time and within budget.

Planning

  • Plan and oversee complex operations, balancing strategic and tactical needs.
  • Ensure team activities are aligned with long-term operational goals and client needs.

Analysis & Risk Management:

  • Analyse operational challenges and implement risk management strategies in line with ISO 31000.
  • Intellectual curiosity: continuously update knowledge of international security best practices and trends.

Results-Oriented:

  • Set and exceed operational goals, contributing to the overall success of Alma.
  • Demonstrate proactive leadership in improving efficiency, quality, and client satisfaction.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

  • Willingness to travel, including to hostile environments, as required.
  • On-call responsibilities for emergency operational support.
